The historic town of Morzine lies at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area – Europe’s largest linked ski area with 650km of piste. Originally a rural market town, with its economy based on agriculture and slate mining, the town retains the architecture and charm of a traditional Alpine village, while providing streamlined facilities to get you smoothly onto the ski slopes.

The ski slopes are dotted with restaurants to suit every taste and purse. Cosy log cabins with enticing open fires and speciality dishes, as well as cafés and bars where you can stop for a simple baguette, crepe or vin rouge. Even more restaurants and activities are found in Morzine itself, which comes alive in the late afternoon, and those so inclined can happily drink and dance into the small hours.
